These are Fiios 2nd TWS in ear product and one I feel needs some attention. The tech is similar to the FW5 in that they have same QCC5141, bluetooth 5.2 /AK4332Dac chips per side. But this time the did away with the BAs and is using a single 10mm dynamic which brings down the cost of these to $100 RP. Will have more to post about them once I get a good listen. Keep tabs on the thread.

So I am listening to these out of the box.
DSC01119.JPG

My goodness these things sound fantastic. That wide stage is intact from the FW5 design. The FT3 sounds well-balanced, wide-open sounding with a deep stage. Sounds semi open, sound balancing is very similar to the FW5 but another product from Fiio. Thier open cans the FT3.

They sound rich, natural, organic, bass is on point, trebles are smooth yet detailed. Wow. Call me smitten out of the box. Very very impressed!

I got a bit of an update on the FW3. From how I understand it the FW3 footprint is based on what was established from their FW5. It uses pretty much the same hardware/ housing and probably firmware as well. Not certain but could be using the dynamic driver from the FW5. A lot of folks were concerned about LDAC compatability and so Fiio has reached out to me and has told me that they are working on bringing a new firmware to adress that. In other words, there is a very good chance we will see LDAC compatabilty for both the FW5 and the FW3 here in the near future. As of now it is just Aptx adaptive and LHDC for higher end codecs.

Hello! Thank you for the provided information. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the product page on the manufacturer's website. I would like to ask you to write a review about the headphones. I was planning to buy the fw5, but I really dislike the color of the metallic frame (black with a purple tint). If there isn't a significant difference, I would prefer the 3rd version as I find the dark gray color more appealing.
Also, I would like to request a review of these headphones from you. Since you are among the first owners, please share your thoughts online. Thank you!

How much technical performance is loss when the two BAs from FW5 are removed?

All in due time my friend. I got confirmation that Fiio will be releasing the FW3 toward the end of this month or in a few weeks. Keep tabs on the thread. I am working on a full write up for them.
Thank you for your response! I'm eagerly anticipating it. Hopefully, we'll get to see your review before it's released for sale. While we're all awaiting your review, could you please let me know what the package includes for the FW3? Is it as feature-rich as the one in the higher-end model?

Can't be quantified but there is.
If you can ditch $50 more they are well spent.
If not, then the FW3 is still very good for what you have paid.

I don't have any measuring tools. I will see if I can get a graph from Fiio. It sounds like a mild v signature, harmon tuned to my ears. Nicely balanced but one with some outstanding dynamics. Punchy deep hitting bass. Clean detailed treble notes. Emotive full bodied mids. Sounds glorious on the go.

How is the sound signature compared to the new FD11?
My first FIIO is that one, and I must say I loved its bold an fun sound.

The drivers might have some similarities in that both are using a carbon based 10mm dynamic. The FW3 takes that sound signature up a notch or two and is even more bold and with a full on meaty sound signature. I got asked if the sound is more neutral analytical or leaning more musical. The sound of the FW3 is definitely more musical. Which is better for outdoor use anyhow. Who wants to analyze sound when your outdoors enjoying the weather or going for nice walk. If you enjoyed the sound of the FD11. The FW3 is like an amplified version of it. More substantial sounding.
