Assassin at Crimson Keep is a short visual novel set in a dark, quasi-fantasy world.
After a botched assassination attempt, you pursue the King into his lair known as the Crimson Keep. Your small choices can have great consequences, either for good or for evil.

Notes:
- Update 1.11 - Minor update which fixed an instance where the abomination creature would still appear even if it was killed
- The Eldritch Update (1.10) includes the whole game, even though file size is smaller
- There is no patch file to bring 1.0 up to date. As a result 1.0 saves are more than likely not compatible with Eldritch 1.1
- 1.0 will remain up for posterity. While Eldritch 1.1 is the final and better version, maybe some people like the original better.
- The Eldritch Update 1.11 is now live on Steam, for those who received a Steam Key
Issues:
- If you have trouble extracting the game using the default Windows 11 extractor, try using 7-zip or WinZip. Thanks to @Chaos31 for the tip.

I'm excited to try this out, but in case it might help someone else, I had some issues extracting the 1.11 update with the default Windows 11 extractor. Got a 'Path too long error' for some MP3 files. 7-Zip worked for me though.

Hej! Just bought AaCK and looking forward to playing it!
One quick bit of feedback about the itch page: Various places say things like "Help this AaCK reach it's goal" and "You own this AaCK" which makes no sense and confused me for a while - I guess AaCK was entered in the field to describe the type of thing this is. "game" or "visual novel" makes more sense. Anyway, I am going to actually start playing now!

For localizing, nNo plans yet, unfortunately, though I am open to it. Just a matter of finding the right people (and time to implement it <-- that's the kicker).
If you ever get to implementing localization, I would gladly assist with translating the game into Russian for free (in case this language is on your list, of course). I already have some experience with game localization, and would be happy to help such a good game reach broader audience.

Hmm, I remember there being an option to allow Steam keys even though it's free. Try going here and see if this will repopulate: https://itch.io/docs/buying/already-bought

I'm inclined to believe there's no Steam key option available for those who obtained the game during the free promotion, likely by design. I would appreciate an update to the main game page to let people know that the Steam key is only available to those who paid for the game.
