Why Early Access?

“We are the first PvP Action deck-builder and since this is uncharted terrain we want to include the community as early as possible in the development cycle. We have many seasoned card game players on our team, but sometimes you can be blinded by your own creation. That's why we believe in a strong community driven development.

So far we have spent several years developing Haxity and we feel that the fundamental gameplay, drafting and fighters works well. However we still have some content we would like to add before we can call it a complete game. We believe that Early access can be a way for us to get the feedback needed and to shape the future Haxity. Since this is also a game with heavy emphasis on PvP there is also feedback on balance, fun factors and other pressing matters we need to develop in a live card game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“With Early access starting in Q2 2020 we are expecting about 6 to 18 months of further development. We will work hard to always relay the newest information regarding the development status. And we will keep an updated roadmap available.””

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For us the full version of the game will have fully developed features such as; more PvP modes, a functioning ladder system, quality of life improvements to gameplay and more visual polish.

In addition to this we want to be able to develop more cards, fighters and generally balance the game in collaboration with the community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We designed Haxity as an early access game from the ground up. Our goal was to create a living card game with close ties to the community. This would allow us to have an open two-way communication on different design choices, be it new fighters, card balance or new mechanics.

By the time Haxity launches in Early Access on Steam, the core gameplay will be in place. And you can fight either against other players or against our well developed AI.

PvP will be an intense experience where you can battle online or challenge a friend in a Best of 3. Here you will test your skill and adapt to whatever your opponent tosses at you. Since you are playing versus one other player you can draft your deck in a way that counters a specific strategy, but be aware that your opponent might do the same to you.

When you play against the AI you will encounter several different opponents with fairly synergistic decks that have been created by the developers and the community.

You will also be able to pick between 3 fighters. These 3 fighters will have several different playstyles based on the cards and combos you can draft. We are sure that you will be able to find a playstyle that suits you, but remember that each run will be a different experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We don't have a final price for full release yet, but given all the new content that we plan for full release, you should expect a higher price. We will talk about the full release price ahead of time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is a vital part of our development and we have a dedicated Community Manager to act as a link between the community and the developers.

We have also created and will maintain several different platforms of communication including; Discord, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and our own Homepage.

Here you will meet members of our team in “The wild”, answering questions, sparking discussions and asking for feedback. We will also frequently publish news about the development, give insight into our thought process and keep an open dialogue with the community.

When the game is finally finished we would be proud to call this a game developed with and for the community.”
