You can buy a 4 GB matching memory module on Amazon (product code is B07HJB2KSR) and install it yourself, to pair it with the one that came in the laptop. It is not difficult, however opening the case is a little tedious. YouTube videos will help to see how to do it.

Very happy with this laptop. My son told me to either get another Toshiba or an Asus, and this was priced right. Great picture, easy set up, large key board. Easy to use even for an old geezer like me.

First overall I am generally a fan of ASUS as a brand.  This laptop fits the reputation.  Sturdy build, decent cosmetics, and good specs for the price.  My son uses this for classwork, but also mine craft which is graphical and intensive, and it holds up.  Bought a Dell in the similar price range (a bit more) and not nearly as happy with it.

Great for class work and basic gaming

I am 100 percent satisfied in this laptop.  First I will tell you about what I like best, then below read a warranty issue with it.  First thing I did was turn off the Windows "S" so that I could run Chrome as a browser.  But what I love about it is speed.  Although it has only 4GB of RAM you can't tell it.  It is operating very fast even if I have several apps open.  The wireless speed is fast too, way faster than my 3 year old Lenovo laptop.  It boots up in less than 15 seconds.  I also like the fingerprint reader which works first tap about 95% of the time.  Second tap gets it if first does not.

One thing I have to get used to is the special keys (function-fkeys).  You MUST hold the fn key and tap a function key to get the sound to change for example.  It is a two handed operation.  My other laptop had the same functions but were reversed - volume was available with a single key stroke and if you wanted the old school f11 key, you had to hold the fn button.  ASUS does not offer a way to reverse the fn operation.  So I am having to live with and get used to that.

Another annoyance is there is no caps lock indicator.  I ended up installing a freeware program that puts an indicator on the system tray.

I got it half price of normal and wondered what that was about.  I found out when it arrived.  Only issue is when it arrived I realized it was produced in 2019 and I ordered it June 2021, so although new, it was 2 years old right out of the box.  That meant the 1 year manufacturer warranty had expired naturally.  Walmart did not send a paper receipt with the unit so I am having trouble getting ASUS to honor their 1 year from purchase date warranty - they are defaulting to the 2 year old manufacturing date.  I contacted Walmart support who understood my issue and am waiting on a support team to send me a receipt that is acceptable for warranty status.  I must admit although ASUS support would not accept a screen hot of Walmart email with purchase proof on it, or a screenshot of the purchase information on the website, the support person was helpful and there was not a long wait to chat with them.  They provided a case number to speed things up when I return with a different receipt.
